Collection of your Personal Information
Orion eLog ELD is approved by the United Stated Department of Transportation (USDoT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to ensure that commercial truck drivers are in compliance with federal regulations. Orion eLog ELD collects personally identifiable information, such as your location, e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number. Orion eLog ELD also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites. There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by Orion Vehicle Intelligence System (Orion VIS). This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses. This information is used by Orion eLog ELD for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Orion eLog ELD Web site. Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through Orion eLog ELD public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others. Note: Orion eLog ELD does not read any of your private online communications. Other Information That We Collect Only through the Orion eLog ELD app and not from your mobile device.
- Location:we periodically record your location in compliance with showing Law Enforcement Officials where and when you have travelled.
- Driver Logs:this information includes knowing when, where, and for how long you stopped or drove.
- Documents: we record your manifests, Bill of Lading, vehicle registration, driver’s license registration information, HAZMAT, and other publicly available information pertaining to freight operations.
- Pictures: pictures of your compliance with freight management regulations are recorded. Any personal pictures you may take are not recorded
- Text Messages: inbound and outbound messages are recorded
- Your Profile: this is optional information you input that enables shop and maintenance personnel to contact you
Use of your Personal Information
Orion eLog ELD collects and uses your personal information to operate the Orion eLog ELD Web site and deliver the services you have requested. Orion eLog ELD also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from Orion eLog ELD and its affiliates. Orion eLog ELD may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered. Orion eLog ELD does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. Orion eLog ELD may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. Orion eLog ELD keeps track of the Web sites and pages our customers visit within Orion Vehicle Intelligence System (Orion VIS), in order to determine what Orion eLog ELD services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within Orion eLog ELD to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area. - Vehicle Fleet Operators: To the extent you are employed by a Fleet Operator in conjunction with the operations of their business, we may share your personal information.
- Third Parties: we, your, or your Fleet Operator may use third parties for a variety of additional services that require knowledge of your personal information, tracking, and reporting functions. This may include, but is not limited to, other vehicle operators, freight managers, dispatchers, receivers, shippers, lumpers, cartage agents, and others with a vested interest in your operations.
- Law Enforcement Agents and Agencies: Your information is subject to review by authorized law enforcement agents and their agencies to validate that you, your travel routes, current location, and other information is compliant with state and federal laws.
Use of Cookies
The Orion eLog ELD Web site use "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server.
